Constanța Maritime University - Cybersecurity and Risk Management Postgraduate Degree

Descriere:

THE MISSION OF THE STUDY PROGRAM
In today's context, where information systems are subject to multiple threats and users' personal data is seen as a commodity that can be traded on the market, there is a need for predictable minimum security in information systems and for users to be informed of the risks. Thus, cyber security should be seen from the perspective of the role the system plays in the infrastructure (service demand, service provision, network equipment), each role requiring different solutions and methods of ensuring security. The field of cybersecurity has started to take on new dimensions with the increase in the level of technological automation and the expansion and amplification of cyber threats/attacks. Security administrators in any organisation have the difficult task of trying to deal with all the cyber threats they face and minimise the possibilities of compromising IT infrastructure.
To this end, it is necessary to optimise the process of monitoring and detecting security events in order to prevent, detect and respond optimally to cyber security incidents. The mission of the Master's programme is to familiarise managers and specialists working in various companies and institutions that manage critical infrastructures in the technical, engineering and IT fields with the challenges posed by the vulnerabilities of digitised technological equipment and systems to cyber attacks.
The Master's programme provides learners with the following theoretical knowledge and practical skills:
• knowledge of the main coordinates of the security of networks and computer systems, in order to quickly identify cyber attacks,
• understanding and recognizing the behavior of malware applications
• knowledge of cryptographic methods and technologies
• knowledge of the main threats in cyberspace and the most commonly used attack methods
• auditing and evaluating the cyber security of information systems used in companies and critical infrastructures
• preventing and combating cybercrime
• improving the information security management system

GENERAL OBJECTIVES
The general objectives are represented by the acquisition of theoretical knowledge by the participants of the Master's training programme, on the basis of which they can contribute to ensuring an adequate level of cybersecurity, preventing and combating cybercrime, improving the information security management system.

SPECIFIC OBJECTIVES
The specific objectives are represented by the acquisition of theoretical knowledge and practical skills necessary for:
